Can the government fix this deficit problem?

In October, the US Treasury took in $135.3 billion and spent $311.7 billion. President Obama is now promising a deficit-reduction plan that will come with his 2011 budget. I have a question. Has all of this debt been part of a budget, because if it has, someone needs some definite budgeting lesson.

You know the type, spend only what you earn. That means if you earn $135.3 billion in October, you only spend $135.3 billion in October. If we can’t spend less than $135.3 billion, which, by the way, sounds like plenty of money to spend in one month, then we have to earn more money.

We as American’s do not typically like the ways we need to earn more money. It would have to come from you and me, in the form of taxes. We could cut some government sponsored programs. I am for that with so many programs out there that we really don’t need.

The Whitehouse through their Budget Director is trying to say the economy is strengthening through this great deficit because people are spending more. I’d like to know who, because everyone I know is pretty tired of pinching pennies, and unemployment.
